The Motorola i1 has been confirmed for Sprint and will go on sale Sunday, July 25. The i1, which offers Push-to-Talk functionality and a rugged exterior designed to handle the elements, will cost $149.99 with a two-year service agreement or eligible upgrade. It will first go on sale through Sprint Telesales (1-800-Sprint) and then be available in stores beginning August 8.

Canadian carrier TELUs has confirmed that it will bring the Motorola i1 up north as well, but it hasn’t offered any solid details on when or how much. A TELUS product page reveals that it will offer the i1 this fall through Mike, the company’s iDEN network.

The Motorola i1 features a 3.1-inch touchscreen, iDEN, MOTOBLUR UI, Swype, a 5 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, and Android 1.5. Click here for more information.

We have heard the rumors in the past about how the Motorola Milestone was heading to TELUS so this latest bit is not all that shocking.

Anyway, it seems that details of the Milestone coming to TELUS were revealed this past weekend by way of a Best Buy Mobile Buyer’s Guide, and in turn TELUS launched a new “coming soon” style page. Basically, there is not much to the site, its really just a link to a Motorola webpage which lets you sign up to be notified of “periodic updates.” Still, its nice to see that TELUS has at least confirmed that the Milestone is coming.

Of course, the when and how much questions still remain. That said, there is also a rumor for that, according to MobileSyrup, the Milestone is expected to be priced at $199 with a 3-year agreement or $549 contract free. Now if we could just find out when the “coming soon” actually is.

Canadian Android fans, take note: Telus is selling the HTC Hero for $49.99 and Rogers is selling the LG Eve for only $0.99. That’s a major discount for both phones; the Hero typically retails for $99 with contract and the Eve sells for $49 with contract, $399 without it.

Of course, there’s always a catch when it comes to deals this good, and that catch is that both phones require a 3-year contract to take the plunge. If you are someone who wanted one of these Android phones, you probably won’t find a deal this good. Telus offers the Hero with voice and capped data plans ranging from $50 to $100. There is no activation fee, and free calls begin after 6PM. Rogers offers free calls after 9PM and capped data plans beginning at $50.

Both deals via AndroidInCanada

Of course, this little bit has yet to be officially confirmed by TELUS. And as far as those missing details, those include the price and release date. So far, the pricing was completely left out and the release included a general “early 2010.” That said, the Milestone is expected to be an exclusive device with TELUS.

And finally, according to the rumor, the official announcement is expected to be coming “in the next couple of days.”

While Rogers seems content with the lower priced and older Android handsets, Telus on the other hand will soon begin offering the HTC Hero. And on top of that, they will be the exclusive carrier for the HTC Hero.

This means the HTC Hero will be available as of November 5, which also coincides nicely with Telus launching their HSPA+ network. Looks good for Android fans that live in Canada, not only will they be getting an upgrade in network, but a shiny new Android phone to take advantage of it.

Sadly though, other than a few minor details (which are listed below) the rest remains a mystery. And by “the rest” I am really referring to the price. Not to mention, the little that Telus did list on the website is probably already common knowledge for most Androinica readers.
