Today, we have some good news for those interested in the Moto X by Motorola on AT&T as the carrier announced it will launch on August 23. While we haven’t heard any official confirmations from other carriers, we imagine the others will follow suit and launch around the end of August.
An added perk of signing a two year contract with AT&T is early access to the exclusive Moto Maker, which allows for deep customization of your Moto X device. The other carriers are said to gain access to Moto Maker in the near future, but no firm date has been announced at this time.
Here are some of the capabilities of Moto Maker should you choose to customize your device:
- Color options for the front and back
- Accent colors for the power key, volume key and camera ring
- Adding your name or short message on the back of the phone
- Unique wallpapers
- Custom power-on message
- Memory capacity – 16GB or 32GB
Given the fact that it does not cost any extra (other than choosing additional storage), I would definitely recommend taking advantage of this unique offer.
Lastly, in order to purchase the Moto X with AT&T, you need to be prepared to fork over $199 for the 16GB model and $249 for the 32GB model. While it is pricey for a mid-range device, the Moto X does offer unique customization options and a great user experience.
