With Google boasting controlling interest of Motorola, a key Android OEM partner, it is sort of surprising to see Motorola out of the loop when it comes to Nexus products. For instance, Asus manufactured the Nexus 7, Samsung manufactured the Nexus 10, and LG manufactured the Nexus 4. However, according to a recent report by the Wall Street Journal, it appears Google wants produce Android smartphones vicariously through Motorola.
The X Phone, developed by Motorola in close collaboration with Google, is expected to hit the market sometime in 2013. A former Google employee will head the project and ensure that the product offers an excellent quality camera with intelligent software. Following up on the X Phone is the rumored X Tablet. At this point, Google and Motorola have been extremely tight-lipped about the project, as you would naturally expect.
Perhaps we will get a sneak peek at whatever Google and Motorola are reportedly cooking up during CES 2013 or Mobile World Congress 2013.
