Rumor: Samsung to unveil new Galaxy S, slimmed down Galaxy Note II, and a 13.3 inch tablet

According to a recent rumor, Samsung is expected to be really busy preparing its new devices for launch in the next four to six months. The tip claims that Samsung is working on Project J, which is internally known as the 4th generation Samsung Galaxy S smartphone. In addition, the Korean manufacturer is rumored to produce a cheaper Galaxy Note II for the European market and a 13.3 inch Transformer-esque tablet.

To begin, the 4th generation Galaxy S is rumored to feature a quad-core processor, full HD AMOLED 5 inch display, latest version of Android (Key Lime Pie?), and a 13MP rear facing camera. In nearly every aspect, the Galaxy S IV would be quite the improvement over the best selling Galaxy S III.

Moving along, Samsung is reportedly working on a Galaxy Note II version that lacks the notable S-Pen integration for the European market. Samsung hopes a lower price will persuade more customers to purchase the Galaxy Note II and give its large screen size a chance. I personally like this move because I feel the S-Pen is not a deal maker, but more people should definitely give its display a whirl.

Lastly, the manufacturer is reportedly working on a 13.3 inch tablet with a QWERTY dock in order to compete with the Asus Transformer series. While an OS was not disclosed, I imagine Samsung to employ Android 4.2 or higher on the device.

With that being said, we’ll keep our eyes on this story to see if it pans out.

I don’t use the pen other than when I do sketches on it. I personally got it for artwork…hated dragging around a tablet…and iphone was too small to draw on. This was the perfect size for pocket sketches

being that the SIII is the iphone’s biggest rival in europe , i am keen to see the improvements made here. alse a 13,3 tablet is an interestng if risky take.
