For some unknown reason, the Samsung Galaxy Note II in the United States arrived with Samsung’s proprietary Multi Window View feature, which takes advantage of its large display.  Essentially, Multi Window View allows you to open two apps side-by-side, thus allowing the user to manipulate both apps at the same time.  An example of Multi Window View by Sprint is viewing a YouTube video and browsing the web using both halves of the screen.

In any case, Sprint is rolling out an update to its own Galaxy Note II starting today that will bring this feature and other improvements to your phablet.  Expect to receive the update within the next five days if not immediately.  Other improvements can be found in GPS lock settings, emails without coverage now go to outbox, and text messages will notify you during calls.  The new build is known as L900VPALJC.
