We have some good news for U.S. Cellular customers today as you are about to get two new Motorola Android smartphone options in the next couple of days. Launching today online and tomorrow in-store is the high-end Motorola Electrify 2. On August 3, the Motorola DEFY XT will launch.
The Motorola Electrify 2 boasts a 4.3 inch display, Android 4.0, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 8MP rear facing camera with 1080p video capture, and a Kevlar casing similar to the DROID RAZR and ATRIX HD. According to U.S. Cellular’s website, the Electrify 2 will cost $179.99 on a two year contract following a $100 MIR.
Next up, we have the rugged Motorola DEFY XT that is able to withstand water, dust, and scratches. In terms of specs, it features a 3.7 inch touch screen display fortified with Gorilla Glass, 512MB of RAM, 1GHz single-core processor, Android 2.3, and a 5MP rear facing camera. Given the DEFY XT’s mid-range specs, I imagine it will debut for significantly less than the Electrify 2, but we will not know the price until August 3 when it launches.
