Before other manufacturers get the chance, HTC has already declared its intentions of bringing Android 4.1 Jelly Bean support to its high-end devices. The HTC One X, One XL, and One S are all scheduled to receive Android 4.1 in the near future, but no time frame was mentioned by the Taiwanese company.
It is worth noting that the global version of the One XL and One S, the One X on AT&T and Rogers, and the One S on T-Mobile will each receive Android 4.1. The announcement by HTC can be read below:
“We know HTC fans are excited to get their hands on Google’s latest version of Android. At this point in time, we can confirm that we have plans to upgrade our HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S to Jelly Bean. Please stay tuned for more updates regarding device upgrades, timing and other details about HTC and Jelly Bean.”
American fans of HTC devices will likely note the above statement does not include the HTC EVO 4G LTE on Sprint nor the HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE on Verizon Wireless. Unfortunately, HTC has not stated whether these two devices will also receive Android 4.1, but I would be shocked if HTC left them stuck on Android 4.0.
