Android OS, Android Phones, Samsung

As we reported a couple of  days ago, Google had to pull the Galaxy Nexus from the Google Play page and simply suggest interested customers be notified when it is available again to ship.  According to a recent report by ABC News, Google will upgrade the GSM Galaxy Nexus to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean when it returns to the Play Store.

The upgrade will allow the Galaxy Nexus by Samsung to appease Apple’s injunction, which finds the Galaxy Nexus in patent trouble in terms of the search bar and how it functions.  Now, Google was said to introduce an OTA update that rectifies the issue, but Google publicly confirmed that upgrading the Galaxy Nexus to Android 4.1 will solve the patent issue and the Galaxy Nexus can be sold freely from the Play Store.

In terms of a timeline, interested customers can expect to purchase the Galaxy Nexus from the Play Store in about a week.
