A few days ago, Samsung began sending out invitations to an event taking place on August 15 in the United States. Speculation at the time pointed to the the event boasting the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 or the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Note II. Today, there is good reason to believe it will be the latter.
BGR is citing a “source close to Samsung” who claims the Galaxy Note II will be announced at the August 15 event. The successor to the original Galaxy Note will sport a 5.5 inch touch screen display, but the device overall will become thinner and taller. Previous Galaxy Note II rumors claim it will run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box and feature a 12MP rear facing camera.
We’re expecting Samsung to produce the Galaxy Note II with specs of higher quality than the Galaxy S III. Hopefully, Samsung can integrate its high-end hardware well with Jelly Bean as it will make the Galaxy Note II a superb device catered towards those who love large displays.
As always, we’ll find out definitively if this rumor pans out as we approach the August 15 Galaxy event by Samsung.
