One of the most revered games in history has found its way to Android. Square Enix has released the original Final Fantasy game for Android, bringing the the famous RPG title to mobile handsets for the price of $6.99.
Final Fantasy is a ported game that requires 240 MB (46.39MB for the game, 200 MB for additional resources). The app isn’t’ always optimized to full-size on larger displays, which bears the signs of a ported app rather than a dedicated one, but it appears to be fully-functional. Anyone who finds space for the game will get a chance to be nostalgic and relive some of their youth, or discover for the first of a historic franchise.
The premise of Final Fantasy is that players assume a role as one of the warriors of light, working to defeat a band of fiends who are corrupting the earth. Players explore large maps, go on missions, and do battle to earn points that will raise their level and make them more powerful. It’s not breaking any records for graphic quality obviously, but that doesn’t mean you won’t enjoy it.
Android 2.1 or higher is required to play Final Fantasy. If you enjoy the game and end up craving more, don’t forget that there’s also Final Fantasy III for the heavier $15.99.
