For new Verizon customers or those looking to upgrade and renew their contract, the Double the Data promotion for Android 4G LTE smartphones was a great deal. Unfortunately, it was only around for a limited time, and according to an internal screenshot, the attractive Verizon promotion ends today. With this in mind, $30 will get you 2GB of monthly data, $50 gets you 5GB, and $80 gets you 10GB of data.
Interestingly enough, Verizon killed the promotion on the heels of the pre-order period for the Samsung Galaxy S III. The media powerhouse that is the Galaxy S III would undoubtedly entice users into sucking up a lot of data. Perhaps Verizon ended Double the Data simply to avoid Galaxy S III pre-order customers from taking advantage of it; or perhaps it was simply it was time to end it. In any event, we hope to see Verizon and other carriers offer something similar in the future since it does help customers get more data for less.
