Unprecedented demand delays the Galaxy S III in Canada until June 27

Today we have some bad news for our Canadian friends up north who may have pre-ordered the Samsung Galaxy S III or are anxiously awaiting to purchase it when it launches.  According to a recent Samsung Canada tweet, the Galaxy S III launch will be delayed by a week in Canada from June 20 to June 27.  The reason, Samsung claims, is a result of unprecedented pre-order demand for the Galaxy S III.  Samsung wants another week of mass production in order to ensure enough Galaxy S III devices for all.

The move by Samsung comes after a few Canadian retailers end their pre-orders because they could not keep up with demand.  We’re hoping Samsung is able to produce enough devices in the extra week period to meet demand because I’m sure the Canadian consumers do not want to be disappointed again.

At this time, there is no word on whether the American Galaxy S III will be delayed as well.
