Best Buy has a deal for anyone who may have been on the fence about purchasing a tablet and considered snagging one through the second hand market. Instead of scouring eBay, just go to BestBuy.com and purchase its Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 bundle for $300.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 bundle features a GTab 8.9 that has been refurbished – a once faulty or pre-owned device has been fixed up and made worthy of reselling – in metallic gray finish. The device has 16 GB of internal memory and comes with the following accessories:
- A QWERTY keyboard dock
- Desktop charging dock
- Leather carrying pouch
- SD card and reader accessory
That’s quite a deal if you’re willing to buy a refurbished product. Sure, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 is a year old, but it’s functional and perfectly capable of handling most of what you need it to do. The device has a 1 GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor, customized Touchwiz UX, and an 8.9-inch WXGA TFT LCD screen that Androinica writer Jamie found to be the right balance of size and portability.
Spec hounds and people interested in buying one of the newer Galaxy Tab’s – including the 7-inch Galaxy Tab 2 that’s only $250 – should probably avoid this one. But if you’ve been thinking about getting a tablet bigger than 7 inches and are looking for a deal, head over to Best Buy to see if this is worth it.
