Sprint has confirmed that it will launch the Samsung Galaxy Nexus on its upstart 4G network beginning April 22. The phone will be available in stores and online this upcoming Sunday, but customers who pre-order now may receive the phone by Friday, April 20.

The Galaxy Nexus costs $199.99 on a two-year agreement. Similar to the Verizon-tied version of the phone, the Galaxy Nexus has a 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED screen, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, stock Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and a 5 megapixel camera capable of 1080p video recording. Unlike the Verizon version, this phone supports Google Wallet out of the box, without any silly workarounds required. Sprint’s even throwing in a $10 instant credit and an additional $40 credit within three weeks of activation.

The unlike also extends to the 4G LTE aspect, the difference being that Verizon actually has a 4G LTE network and Sprint doesn’t. The Now Network says that it will have LTE support in select markets by mid-year, while Verizon has already blanketed most of the continental United States. (Get more info on Sprint’s LTE roll-out here.) But when LTE finally arrives, Sprint users will have the advantage of not having unlimited data, where Verizon forces customers to pay for tiered service. Win some, lose some.
