In an unusually quiet end of the week on the technology front, we got our most important piece of news from HTC. Actually, there are two pieces of news concerning HTC smartphones, one referring to the upcoming One V and one to the already released EVO Design 4G.

Let’s start with the beginning and warn technology geeks on a budget to be prepared for the One V release. The low-end, but very stylish smartphone, unveiled a while back, will most definitely hit the market in April, having already received FCC approval.

That’s the final touch and the last formality to be fulfilled before the release of any smartphone and, considering the fact that we already spotted the One V gaining GCF (Global Certification Forum) approval last week, I am willing to bet my life on seeing the handheld up for sale as soon as April Fools.

I’m not going to insist very much on the One V’s spec sheet, as we have talked about the gadget before on our website, but if you need a reminder, please check out this post detailing all of the 3.7-incher’s features.

The second piece of news (or rather rumor) from HTC might be more interesting for mid-range gadget lovers, as it seems that the EVO Design 4G is finally gearing towards an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update.

The EVO Design 4G, launched last fall, is a pretty popular device amongst Android enthusiasts, even though it is only powered by a single-core 1.2 GHz processor. With a more than fair quality-price ratio (we saw the gadget available for free on contract a while back) and a nice overall design, the 4-incher is set to draw some additional attention once upgraded to ICS.

It’s unclear when the update might happen, but it’s fair to assume that it will be coming our way soon, giving the fact that the EVO Design 4G, codenamed PH44xxx, has gained Bluetooth recertification yesterday, as the guys at Ameblo.jp have exclusively reported.

Stay tuned on Androinica.com for more details about the HTC smartphone duo and please hit us with a comment telling us what excites you more. Is it the upcoming release of the One V or the imminent update of the EVO Design 4G?
