Just as we suspected, The Sims FreePlay is now in the Android Market. EA sent us a promo package hinting that the game would arrive soon, and that has proven to be the case.

The Sims FreePlay is available now for Android 2.0 and higher devices. The app is a free-to-play virtual life designed for mobile gaming. Players can form relationships with others, build businesses, have pets, and even find some computer love. It’s basically all of the life and town management features that have made Sims one of the most popular games in the world, only now you can do it your phone instead of your computer or console.

FreePlay is part of EA’s foray into the freemium gaming model. The game itself is free to download and play, but users can use money to purchase “Lifestyle Points,” the virtual currency used to purchase items, or take shortcuts. It’s also important to note that this is not linked to the Facebook game and requires an internet connection to play.

Here are some other features available in Sims FreePlay

• Design dream homes or get fully-furnished houses for your Sims
• Care for pets, grow gardens, even bake a cake
• Give your Sims careers and earn Simoleons to improve their situations
• Complete goals for Lifestyle Points, then spend them on hip items
• Live with your Sims in real-time (when it’s day or night for you, it’s the same for your Sims)!
