The Android 4.0 Asus Transformer saga is finally getting close to a happy ending, after months of seemingly endless rumors, speculations, delays and contradictory announcements. According to the Asus official Facebook page, the 4.0 update already started today in Taiwan and will follow in ‘’other regions soon after’’.

Oddly enough, this latest announcement comes only a week after another official announcement stating that the update for the original Eee Pad Transformer will be delayed until March. On the other hand, that might still be the case for some regions and users, because that ‘’soon after’’ thrown in today’s statement clearly leaves room for interpretation and further delays.

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer will be updated (or is already updated for you lucky Taiwanese Android geeks) to the firmware version and, without getting into too many unnecessary technical details, the changes should be more than significant and should be noticed at the browsing speed and multimedia performance first and foremost. You will also get a redesigned and improved user interface, so there’s a lot ‘’at stake’’ here.

Hopefully, the original Transformer update will not encounter the same problems as the Prime’s upgrade did and all you Ice Cream Sandwich tasters will have a smooth GPS experience.

Check the source link below for the complete Asus Facebook announcement earlier today and don’t forget to hit us with a comment if you are one of the lucky Transformer users who have already received the FOTA update. Also, we would very much appreciate it if you would tell us how the slate feels after this much-awaited upgrade.
