The original Asus Eee Pad Transformer is currently running Android 3.2 (Honeycomb), but will soon be upgraded to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The only question left in the minds of the Transformer owners is when will the upgrade begin to roll-out? Asus informed us a few weeks ago that it would occur shortly after the Transformer Prime received its upgrade. During CES 2012, it was announced that the Transformer Prime is going to receive the ICS upgrade immediately, and most owners of the Transformer Prime are already enjoying Android 4.0.
Recently, Asus announced that the update for the Transformer Prime would drop sometime in February. However, on the Asus North America Facebook page, the Taiwanese company announced the update is in the process of being approved by Google, and after that, it will be pushed out to the owners.
This is good news for Transformer owners since the Android 4.0 upgrade is possibly only days away from a release. It is also refreshing to see Asus take such a proactive approach to keeping their customers up to speed with ICS developments.
