The HTC EVO View 4G, Sprint’s version of the HTC Flyer Android tablet, is on sale right now at eBay. At a steep discount. The Evo View 4G 32GB is currently available for only $239.95 without contract at the eBay Daily Deals site.
Considering that this device retails for $749.95 when purchased without a contract, it’s tough to see how eBay is managing to swing such a large price cut. I thought the device might be refurbished – that’s when companies take broken products, perform some repairs and then sell it to someone else – but I’m not seeing any market to confirm that. However, anyone willing to take a chance on the View will get quite a deal if purchased here. For comparison’s sake, Best Buy sells the WiFi-only 16GB Flyer for $299.
Still on the fence? Me too, but if you’re inching closer towards seriously considering reaching for that credit card, here’s some encouraging news. HTC announced today via Facebook that it is updating the GSM European version of the Flyer to Android Honeycomb. One would then reasonably suspect that the Evo View 4G wouldn’t have to wait too much longer to get similar treatment.
Visit eBay to take a look at the specs of the device and see if the Android tablet with HTC Sense and a customized, digital-pen-friendly UI are the type of tablet you’ve been looking for this year. Worse case scenario, you get a discount on a gift for your gadget-obsessed loved ones.
Decide quickly because this is a one-day deal. Supplies are limited.
