Galaxy Nexus owners experiencing multi-touch issues, ICS to blame

You can now add multi-touch to the latest list of issues going on with some Galaxy Nexus owners out there. This is another oddity with the Ice Cream Sandwich device, which as early as yesterday was reported to having antenna issues — Verizon confirmed: “The signal strength issue is currently being investigated. We don’t have an ETA, but a software update is being developed.” The multi-touch problem was discovered when a few gamers who are members of the RootzWiki forums began noticing inconsistent multi-touch behavior after playing certain 3D games including Samurai Warrior II, Shadow Gun, Pew Pew, Gun Bros, and other titles.
The issue starts after a few minutes of gameplay in landscape orientation, the lower right part of the display becomes unresponsive to a user’s touch, but like every small bug there’s always a work around. User’s who happen to experience this problem can put a stop to it by simply toggling the display off and back on again, which will restore normal functionality. Judging from that information this suggest to me that this is likely a software bug than any sort of hardware-related issue — which is a good thing because it’s easily fixable.
I tested the Verizon Galaxy Nexus review unit that I have by playing Gun Bros, and I didn’t have any issues whatsoever. That said, there are some people out there with these multi-touch issues, if you’re one of those people feel free to leave us a comment. My Nexus One has done this for months on Gingerbread Cyanogenmod. A screen toggle always fixes it.
I also have a Nexus One and this is a **hardware** issue with digitizer. When screen gets warm digitizer becomes uncalibrated. Locking/unlocking the screen re-calibrates the digitizer. It can't be fixed by a software update. Having said that, I truly hope this is software issue on Galaxy Nexus.
