Documents To Go 3.0 just received a brand new update that adds several much-needed features. Some of those features include simple additions that the productivity app have sorely been missing like double tap for selection, Pinch Zoom, and tap for keyboard. We at Androinica love Docs to Go, the app is in our 10 productive Android apps you should have list.

Here’s the long list of improvements in version 3.004 down below:

  • Pinch Zoom (OS 2.0+)
  • Cursor/Selection pointers
  • Tap for keyboard (full vers.)
  • Double Tap for selection
  • Sheet tabs in spreadsheets
  • Easier chart view in spreadsheets
  • Support b/t keyboard shortcuts (OS 3.0+) (full vers.)
  • Cut/Copy/Paste/Undo/RedoBold/Italic/Underline
  • Office 2010/2011 encrypted docs (OS 2.2+) (full vers.)
  • Support JPEG2000 in PDF (OS 2.0+) (full vers.)
  • Fixes/Improvements
  • HTC context menu
  • External storage

So far I’ve tested Documents To Go 3.0 on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and it performs much more efficiently. Before the update, I had a real issue with the way the keyboard functionality performed. In the earlier versions of the app you had to go through the file settings just to pop up the keyboard, with version 3.004 that void is no more. Another big addition is support for Office 2010/2011 encrypted docs, which finally does away with the old 2003 Word doc version.

Documents to Go is free, but limited to only viewing documents. If you want Docs to Go with full features like creating and editing documents, prepare to pay a price of $14.99. I know, that’s a bit pricey, but having this kind of access to your documents makes it well worth the price, especially with this latest update.
