It looks like Samsung is gearing up to show the world “something big” on the first of September. At least that’s what a new video is leading us to believe. The video in question, which mentions the date of September 1st, is features below. These events have lead us to a number of cool devices, including the Galaxy S, Galaxy S II, and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 redesign.
From the looks of the video, I feel like Samsung is hyping a new phone. The biggest sign of that, in my opinion, is the guy who holds his glow up to his hear, like you would a phone. However, the size of the glow in the hands of the woman at the end of the video makes me doubt that. I suppose its possible they are announcing a tablet, or both at the same time. It was at IFA last year that the world first saw the Galaxy Tab, so announcing its successor there would only be fitting.
Given that this event is slated for the IFA conference in Berlin, I feel like we need take that into account. Germany just got LTE service nation wide, and would need a new phone to go with it. Perhaps Samsung is giving them an LTE version of the Galaxy S II. If they are, we have no details on any design changes.
If that’s the case, then we can only hope such a device would make its way to the United States. While Verizon is the only carrier here with LTE at the moment, AT&T and Sprint are both working on LTE networks. We may know the truth after Samsung’s event in New York on the 29th.
Watch the video and let us know what you think Samsung has up their sleeve. Leave your ideas in the comments below.
