For the upcoming NFL season, I stumbled across a new live wallpaper for all us football fans. Best NFL Live Wallpaper may not have the catchiest or smoothest name, but it is a great wallpaper that I’ve been using for the past few days. It lets you choose from any of the 32 NFL teams, and use their respective logo as a rotating, throbbing tribute to your fandom.
The wallpaper has a few configurable details aside from the choice of teams. You can change the number and frequency of shooting particles (think Nexus S background), the shape of the object surrounding the team’s logo (cloud, rectangle, circle, or star), and the color of the rings surrounding the logo.
You are also able to choose whether you want all this animated or not which is a thoughtful feature for those battery-conscious types. Speaking of which, while some live wallpapers may cause your phone to lag or show a marked decrease in your battery, I have found neither to be case with Best NFL Live Wallpaper.
I would like to see a few extra features accompany this live wallpaper though. It is scarce around the edges as the logo is a little small in the center of the screen. For example, it would be awesome to see the Patriots’ Super Bowl victory logos splashed around the edges or circling the logo.
With no lag or battery drain, this is a must-have live wallpaper for any fan wanting to show their (teams) true colors. You can find it free in the Android Market, unlike a lot of the other sports-related apps and wallpapers looking to feed off your pride.
If you know of any other great football apps or wallpapers, let us know in the comments so we can all get ready for the new season.
