If recent stats from one ad network are to be believed, AT&T’s improved Android line-up is helping the carrier rapidly improve its share of the Android smartphone market. After today’s announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S II variant, that trend might continue.

Samsung Mobile took the wraps off its US line of Galaxy S II phones at a press event in New York. AT&T just confirmed that it will have the Galaxy S II, along with the common specs turning heads on other carriers. Pricing has not yet been revealed, but the phone will arrive September 18th.

The AT&T Galaxy S II has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen that (slightly smaller than its brethren) that should be nothing short of gorgeous. It has a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor (Samsung’s Exynos) and a revamped version of Touchwiz UI not officially released in the states. That improved software, with optional enterprise-level security among other things, is layered on top of Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).

Though Sprint labeled its Galaxy S II the Epic 4G Touch, AT&T and T-Mobile have opted not to attach their own branding (not yet, at least). Whatever the name, this will be a very impressive phone. Here’s a list of some of the specs available in the upcoming phone.
