Last week, Android tablet users were informed with some pretty great news, which had to do with all Honeycomb users being able to play and stream Netflix right on their tablets via its newly released update. This was made possible because some enterprising users found that by simply installing the apk, it would be very functional on Android tablets running Honeycomb.
Well, almost every Android Honeycomb tablet. We learned from our readers that certain tablets weren’t able to play and stream Netflix. The short list of Honeycomb tablets which ended up being left in the dark were Acer Iconia and ASUS EEE Transformer. According to Droid-Life, that may change when the Transformer gets its fix of Android 3.2. This is a rumor, so without any official announcement from both ASUS or Netflix — this news should be taken with a grain of salt. But with the image of the Transformer spec page below, it makes the claim a little more believable.
We at Androinica haven’t heard anything from ASUS or Netflix in regards to this update, but I would assume that the Andriod 3.2 update should be rolling out within a couple of months. Just think, you Transformer owners who have been suffering will soon be getting Netflix in no time. EEE Pad users out there may have been tempted to root their device to be compatible with Netflix, but thiss news could make it so they don’t have to. Be sure to keep an eye on the upcoming update and Android Market once it is pushed to your tablet.
