Celebrate July 4th with a patriotic Android t-shirt

June 27, 2011 | by Andrew Kameka

The annual 4th of July Holiday, celebrating the day that the United States declared its independence, is one week from today. To commemorate the nation’s 235th year, the folks over at are selling a special edition Android shirt.

The one day sale is on now, giving American Android fans a chance to merge their love of Android with their sense of patriotism. The limited-edition shirt design has 50 Bugdroid (aka Andy) representing the number of states, and alternating red and white lines of the same logo replacing the stars-and-stripes. The tagline then says “The United States of Android.”

Our friends at AndroidSwag say that the shirt is on sale for $17.76 (get it? get it?) plus shipping and handling. A portion of every shirt sale will go towards Fisher House, a charitable organization that provides a “home away from home for military families to be close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease, or injury.”

This is a one-day sale that is underway now. The shirts will ship on July 30th Thursday, but they are not guaranteed to be delivered by Monday, July 4th. However, this shirt will also be in style even after the haze of cookouts and fireworks next week. Head over to to place your order now.
