Mobilecity has put up a pre-order page for the LG G-Slate with a listed “Retail Price” of $799, but their price at $699.?Of course, this is not an official price announcement by LG or T-Mobile, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it verified in the coming weeks.
Just about everyone has been balking at the price of the Motorola Xoom, which is selling for $799 for the 3G model (upgradeable to 4G) off-contract. Luckily, T-Mobile loves to undercut Verizon, so I’m willing to bet this price will hold. Interestingly, the pre-order page doesn’t have a release date listed, even though we’ve seen leaked T-Mobile documents which put the G-Slate release date at March 23rd, just about 3 weeks away.
We’ll have to wait and see if this price is official, but considering the site is actively taking pre-orders, not to mention the Best Buy leak of the Xoom pricing turned out to be on the money, this all seems pretty legit to me. It should be interesting to see if there will be a WiFi-only version and what the price on that would be.
So, the question is: who’s going for a G-Slate? If it comes in WiFi only, I may jump on that train.

G-Slate WIFI only for 600 may work for me
I'd be willing to bet WiFi only would be under $600, given the price difference on the Xoom and iPad. Might be closer to that magic $500 mark.
$700 is still a bit too much for me, $600 is a much more attractive price if they hope to beat the ipad 2. either way, $600, $700 or $800 Im buying one of the big 3 Android tablets.
The comparable iPad 2 is $729. The WiFi only iPad 2 is $599, and I'm quite sure the WiFi only G-Slate can hit that mark, or be cheaper when it hits.
I'm getting the first WiFi-only model under $600 – whatever it will be. For me, as a developer, the most important requirement is that it has to run faster than the Honeycomb emulator. Borys Burnayev actioncomplete.com GTD for Android and Web
I am shopping for a WiFi only tablet and there are many options poping up just recently. My Price range is $400-$550 and there are some good ones that could compete with the G-Slate. The Galaxy tab 8.9, Acer Iconia A500, and my favorite contender, the Asus Transformer Are all between $400 and $469. The G-Slate better have a good price or some outstanding features to persuade me.
