Scrabble-inspired game Words With Friends has been one of the most talked-about apps on iOS and one of the most-requested apps that people have waited to see come to Android. Zynga has confirmed today that the wait will be over in a few weeks.
Though the game-maker did not confirm exactly when WWF would make the jump to Android, Zynga did announce that the app is set to debut on Android 1.6 and higher devices. Words With Friends will be compatible across platforms, so Android users will finally be able to test their vocabulary against their iPhone and iPad-owning friends.
Zynga gave press members at yesterday’s Google event a front-row seat to the new game, and I managed to grab a quick hands-on video before the event was called to a close. I’m not much of a Words With Friends player but my friends on iOS are obsessed with the game and I relish the opportunity to get in on the fun. Here’s a look at WWF on a Motorola Xoom and Nexus S.
