Some people may be excited by this teaser video, but I am not one of them. I am a bit of a film snob, and I have trouble with directors like Michael Bay destroying one of my childhood favorites with the new Transformer movies. So, seeing one of the Android tablets that I’m excited for in a mock-trailer based on the new Transformers is not a very pleasing combination. Don’t get me wrong, the video is well done if light on anything related to the actual device itself, but it brings up some bad memories of Shia LeBeouf being generally terrible at life.
That said, there isn’t too much to this video. It’s basically just a teaser telling us that we’ll get a better look at the upcoming G-Slate at MWC. The odd thing about the video is that it refers to the device as the Optimus Pad, which I thought was the codename that should have been dropped once it became officially announced as the G-Slate. There is talk that the name G-Slate is a US only name, and the rest of the world will know it as the Optimus Pad, so that would explain it.
