In an effort to push the gaming crack that is Minecraft, it’s been announced to be coming to Android as well as iOS devices. Minecraft, still in beta, has become an amazing success in a short time by building a game with a fairly simple premise: find the tools and resources, and you can build the world any way you want.
Currently, the game is only available as an in-browser game and as a downloadable, but mobile versions had been rumored. Minecraft developer Mojang’s head of business development Danial Kaplan recently told Kotaku that after a discussion of the matter, it was decided that the port for iOS and Android would be done in-house.
The port should be on mobile devices this year, and there is a high likelihood that the port will be out before the game is out of beta. There are vague plans for a full release of the game this year, but nothing firm has been announced.
I’m very curious about this game, never played it, but I’d like to give it a try. Unfortunately, I’m not too keen on paying $20 for a game without having a chance to play. What do you guys think of Minecraft?
