The rumors had been swirling that Honeycomb was going to require a dual-core processor. Samsung Galaxy Tab owners had gotten worried that they would be left behind as the official tablet OS was released. Now, there is word from someone on the Android team, Dan Morrill, who says that all the rumors are false: “there’s no hard minimum for Honeycomb.”
“No hard minimum” could still leave some devices behind, at least until the XDA community can make some adjustments. But, it sounds like good news for anyone who has already picked up an Android tablet. Now, you just have to worry about whether your device will get an official upgrade from the manufacturer or not.
