Polaroid tablet bucks the trend, goes square

Tablets
I won’t lie, I watched the whole video for this Polaroid tablet hoping and hoping that at some point it would print a picture out of the back. Spoiler alert! It never happened. Sad.
So, going strong for the award for “Most Surprising Company to Feature an Android Tablet at CES”, we’ve got a new front-runner with Polaroid! I was genuinely confused when I first saw this story, but it is true. Polaroid is jumping into the tablet game.
The Polaroid tablet is 9.7 inches and looks to be bucking the trend of black rectangular tablets, by being closer to a 4:3 ratio, than the more common 16:9 ratio form factor that we’ve been seeing throughout the show, though it is still black. Otherwise, the specs are fairly unimpressive:
- Cortex A8 1GHz processor
- 4GB internal storage
- 2 megapixel camera
- 6800 mAH battery
Based on the apps listed on the device, it doesn’t seem to be marketed for North America. Does this interest any of our international readers?

Surely not. International reader are also up to Ghz-Mpix, Multi touch etc. comptetion.
The apps are for the Chinese market. CCTV is a Chinese TV station while QQ is their equivalent of Skype or BBM My recent post Repost You Love Globe We Love You! The iPhone Giveaway
I realise Android is about choice, but it seems like anybody and his brother are releasing tablets, making almost a mockery of Google attempts to promote this format. It is a free market and Android is open source so guess I should accept this and allow market forces to weed out the weak from the worthy. Xoom and Honeycomb have shown the way forward IMHO everyone ese come up to the play or forget it. Honeycomb is the way forward Android 2.2 is so last year :-p
Does this interest any of our international readers? North America??? What the fuck is North America? Some 3rd world peanuts country or what? OFCOURSE no serious country on earth is interesting to produce anything for North America. So yes it is only for international (read: the whole world exept that North America) !! Thanks to the Lord there is more than only North America.
Unbelievable, they still are as dumm as a brick!!! Do you people really believe that north amerika is the center of the universe? get real.
Wow, "dumm as a brick", that's classic! Of course there is more than North America, but if you are selling something there is no place as easy or as fast to sell it. Not that other markets aren't important, but would you rather sell something to a unified market of 400+ million or a bunch of smaller markets?
