Comcast has released an application for its Xfinity customers to monitor their television and email services. The big-ticket among launch features is that XFINITY Mobile can manage your DVR settings remotely. MyDVR can sync scheduled recordings to add, update, or remove items, for those times when you’re out and worried about what your home box is set to record.
XFINITY also lists Comcast cable schedules for browsing what’s on the tube. Similar to the channel guide, it can also focus on Movies, Sports, Kids, HD. It also provides details on each program, shows alternate viewing times, manage favorites, and create reminders for when a broadcast is set to begin.
The other forms of XFINITY Triple Play – home phone and Internet service – are also represented in this application. Subscribers can view their Comcast.net inbox messages or access their voicemail from the app. A widget is included to control both email and voicemail.
Comcast has said that it will release apps to watch television remotely and use Android devices to control the television. Those features are absent from the initial release, but are forthcoming according to previous claims.
