We took the opportunity to praise SwiftKey when it was on sale a couple of weeks ago, and when it comes to traditional QWERTY keyboards in the market, SwiftKey arguably handles intuitive predications, spell corrections and word completions better than the competition.
A new version of the keyboard was released today, and it brings a couple of nice improvements such as a new HD skin. It’s designed to improve SwiftKey’s look on high resolution screens, such as those found on tablets.
The update also features an enhanced prediction quality when writing in U.S. English, and a keyboard without accented characters. Other additions include support for Brazilian Portuguese, Czech, Danish, Norwegian and Polish, as well as a set of Scandinavian keyboard layouts.
TouchType, the company behind SwiftKey, has also doubled the trial period from 14 days to a month for the holidays. Here’s the trial version, and the full app is available for $3.99 if you decide you need a new on-screen keyboard in your life.
