Today, HTC’s popular Desire device has received a firmware update to version v2.29.405.2. It’s yet unclear in which regions the update is available, but the new firmware release is assumed to be downloadable for most unlocked HTC Desires.
Head to Settings > About phone > System software updates on your phone and tap the ‘Check now’ button to see if you’re eligible for the upgrade. It’s a 28.87MB download, and you need at least 25MB of free internal storage before installing the update, or your device will complain and refuse to install it until the adequate amount of space is available.
HTC hasn’t provided a changelog yet, but this post will be updated once we know what’s new. According to comments on other sites and forums, the update is most likely a maintenance release. Have any HTC Desire owners discovered any changes or additions yet?
