The PSP Phone has poked its head out a few times now, starting with some blurry photos and moving on to blurry video, but this time we get to see clear video. Unfortunately, the new video doesn’t really show what I’d like to see.
As you can see, the phone looks just as we expected, and the video is nice enough to show some buggy software crashing when the slider is popped out. It also cuts to the system settings, showing the device name “Zeus” and that the device is supposedly running Gingerbread, although none of the UI color schemes that we’ve come to associate with Gingerbread are in the rest of the video.
We get to see the phone from different angles, the smooth sliding action a few times, and even a nice fade animation when jumping back to the home screen from the app tray. The phone looks nice, curvy and slick, if not a bit thick, but that can be excused since it’s hiding gaming controls inside.
What I would have liked to see is for the person to launch Neocore, which you can see in the app tray, or maybe jump into a game, so we could see the graphics and controls. I guess we’ll have to wait for the official announcement for that, and rumor has it, that announcement could be next week.
