Another major Android app got an update today, so pay attention if you’re a fan of Twitter for Android.
The official Twitter Android app received some sprucing up to be faster for reading timelines. According to the company’s official blog, the app now scrolls faster and smoother than ever before. You’ll need that bump in speed because the app is also more “polished” with hi-res avatars, continuous timelines, a new tweets detail page, and a the ability to retweet with comment!
Being unable to quote a tweet and add your own opinion has been a non-starter for several users. And though we’ve previously encouraged people to use the add-on app “Retweet” as a workaround, the official app now handles this function natively.
Twitter also added a “swipe to reveal” function that quickly shows options for sharing, responding, marking as a favorte, etc. It’s basically like the way Touiteur handles these functions, except bigger and not as easy to access.
