The Samsung Galaxy S has been troubled by GPS problems since it was first released months ago. Plenty of people complained that it was impossible to get a decent fix on their location, despite maintenance updates from AT&T and T-Mobile that claimed to patch the problem. Samsung has released a new app in the Android Market that claims to fix these problems.
I use the word “claim” because we already heard from a couple of folks that this actually doesn’t address the problems of getting a more accurate reading, although some people say that this does fix the issue for them. It seems to be a yes/no/maybe kind of thing that I won’t pretend to understand.
Regardless, it can’t hurt to try if you’re still experiencing issues with the AT&T Captivate or T-Mobile Vibrant pinpointing your location. If that’s the case, download GPS Restore from the Android Market and follow the instructions given by Samsung. Good luck.
