Google Docs Mobile Android

Back in September, Google announced that they were going to bring Docs editing to the browser of your Android device. Well, they’ve finally made true on that promise!

Spreadsheet editing has been around for a couple weeks, and works well. I find it annoying that you have to be sure to click a “submit” button when editing each field in a spreadsheet, though. Word documents will be included in the editing fun very soon.

Just point your mobile browser over to docs.google.com to try it out. When you choose a file, there should be a new “edit” button. For a bit more info, Google has put up a preview video on Youtube.

Docs editing will be available only on devices running 2.2 Froyo, sorry to those stuck on Eclair. Google says they will be rolling out the feature in the next few days. Give it a try, and let me know when you get it working!
