The Archos 70 Internet Tablet is available for purchase at the online Archos Store. The 7-inch screen tablet sports Android 2.2, 8GB of internal memory, an ARM A8 1 GHz processor, and costs only $274.99.
When comparing specs, the Archos 70 has almost everything necessary to stack up against the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Well, everything except that pesky official support for the Android Market. The Android modding community may find a way to get the Android Market onto the Archos, but it will ship without access or official support for the thousands of apps available through the primary channel.
But the Archos 70 still offers what looks like a decent Android 2.2 tablet for less the cost of owning a Galaxy Tab. Here’s a list of specs available at the purchase page for the Archos 70. A similar version with larger storage space, and a 10-inch tablet are also on the way from Archos.
