Verizon announces list of cities getting 4G in 2010. Is your town on it?

Verizon previously stated that its 4G network would first roll out to 30 U.S. markets with NFL franchises by the end of the year. Just for fun, the company announced today that it has tacked on an additional eight markets set to be part of the LTE network launching in the coming months.

Verizon expects its 4G LTE network to reach data speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps download and 2 to 5 Mbps upload, making it competitive Sprint’s 4G Wimax network that gets 3 to 10 Mbps download and is capped at 1 Mbps upload speeds.

Airports will also be treated to a 4G upgrade this year as Verizon plans to create targeted LTE zones in 60 commercial airports in “key cities,” which really means big cities. Below is a list of cities and general areas that can expect to see Verizon’s 4G roll-out this year.
