There are too many apps. Well, there’s not too many, but there are more than the average person can or cares to sift through to find what’s right for them. That’s why Sprint has developed Sprint ID, a new service of app and content packs tailored for the user’s interests.
Sprint ID will deliver apps, ringtones, and wallpapers in downloadable packs that speak to your interest. A BMX rider would get apps that track extreme sports and features widgets or wallpapers of extreme things…like Mountain Dew. Users will be able to set-up about 5 ID’s for the various parts of your identity. Perhaps you love antiques as much as you love BMX; we use to discuss plots from All My Children around these parts, so who are we to judge?
There will be content and ID packs from several big name brands, including Amazon, E!, eBay, ESPN, Disney, MTV, and Oprah among others. The packs will be useful for media junkies, sports fans, business professionals, and other “identities” who need target app recommendations. Nothing to write home about, but at least it’s not a whole new store complicating matters, right?
