Sony Ericsson has a new accessory for Android phones in the works called LiveView™. The device is similar in appearance to a digital wrist-watch, and it’s meant to act as a second display for your phone. Besides showing instant notifications for text messages and incoming calls, LiveView™ can display Facebook and Twitter updates, as well as RSS feeds and calendar reminders. The device may also serve as a remote control for your music app, a phone finder and a regular watch.
LiveView™ isn’t just intended for Sony Ericsson devices, since it should be compatible with most Bluetooth enabled phones running Android 2.0 and above. The functionality of the accessory can be extended with various LiveView compatible third-party apps. An application that has already implemented LiveView support is the work-out tool SportyPal.
One battery charge will typically last 4 days according to SE, and the accessory measures 3.5 x 3.5 × 1.1cm. LiveView™ features a 1.3-inch OLED display with a 128×128 resolution and will be available in select markets Q4 2010.

I am probably wrong, but this seems a little pointless. If you need to have your phone in Bluetooth connectivity range… why not just check your phone?
Ironic that it won't work with an SE phone since it requires Android 2+, while SE phones are stuck at 1.6.
Still, the point would be to have your phone in the backpack probably, so when you run, cycle not to think of damaging it.
This idea is great, got one 2 days ago, her in Holland for 57 € . Works partly with my samsung galaxy TAB.. BUT…… the battery is not holding for more than maybe at most 10 hours, which is way to short, practically making this a useless gadget. The loading of the batterie is once more a non universal power thingy so that u cannot load it while away, using someone elses USB port as a power supp.. Sad to see that the sonys, apples, microsofts etc of this world make this crappy stuff all the time with their closed systems and every time a new power supply. I think i will try to give it back to the shop, and wait for a decent "liveview-alike" thing from another brand……
Sent it back to the shop, will get my money back! But be advised: this is sort af a BETA thingie…. Great idea, not well enough designed. It should work for WEEKS on one charge, maybe longer, or getting its power from your phone, It should NEVER lose bluetooth connection, it should KEEP its screen on all the time, it should be possible to program it easily by yourself, it should have a full touchscreen, not only some sort of cursor keys… you should be able to use it to actually CALL or DIAL a phone number. Actually it should be like the new nano-touch but than not from apple or if neccisary a little bit bigger.
how can i buy this i item?
