There are times when you snap that great photo and want to share it on Facebook or Buzz, but the 2 MB upload may be a lengthy and troublesome proposition on a weak cellular network. You could just shoot at a smaller resolution, but then you’ll have a smaller image than you may want for storage problems. Thankfully there’s an app that helps solve this micro-conundrum.
Reduce Photo Size is an Android app that can resize photos on your phone. While Android has always had the ability to crop, which focuses on a limited range of the image, Reduce Photo Size makes it possible to keep the image intact and be compacted. The resulting image will then be smaller and easier to upload with Reduce Photo Size, allowing for faster uploads. No need to send Grandma a 2 MB photo when a smaller, 640 x 480 image will get the job done just as well.
Reduce Photo Size can reduce or crop an image stored in the Gallery or take a new image directly within the app. It has built-in sharing options for easy uploads to your network of choice. Download Reduce Photo Size from the Android Market.
