Those rocking the 4.3” Motorola Droid X can now finally download the much-anticipated Android 2.2 Froyo update over-the-air. If you don’t get an automatic notification on your device about the upgrade, go to Settings > About phone > System Updates. It’s a fairly large 67MB update, so turn on your Wi-Fi.
Besides all the new features of Froyo, Adobe Flash Player 10.1 is included, as well as improvements to the mobile hotspot application, enhanced visual voicemail with Bluetooth support, and a fix that makes sure data connections don’t drop when you switch between Wi-Fi and 3G networks. Droid X users who still want to enjoy root access should be able to use these two methods described at the xda-developers even after the upgrade.
