T-Mobile G2 spy shots emerge

HTC, T-Mobile
We saw a glimpse of what we though the HTC Vision would be, and then we got official word from T-Mobile USA that it’s next big Android device would be the G2. Now we get our first look at the device T-Mobile has been teasing.
Engadget received a couple of spy shots of the G2 that makes it very likely that the HTC Vision leak we saw last month is indeed the G2. The device is built by HTC, has T-Mobile branding, and features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Piecing together information that we already knew, it will probably include a 3.7-inch screen and Android 2.2 with HTC Sense. Rumors suggested that this could have a processor faster than the current Snapdragon models, but the G2 may arrive in stores too soon for that to take place.
Either way, you G1 holdouts who have refused to upgrade until you got another QWERTY phone will have some decisions to make soon enough.
UPDATE
New pics reveal how the G2 will expose the QWERTY keyboard. It’s actually not a slide-out board as the user actually has to lift the hinge to make the keyboard visible. This was most likely done as a design mechanism to limit bulk.

I used to be a hardcore physical keyboard enthusiast until I got Swype… Since then I find myself using the physical keyboard of my Droid on an extremely rare occasion such as for typing a long and complex password. For texts comprised of dictionary words – email and pretty much everything else – Swype does the job faster and with less hassle. Getting back on topic… Don't make the physical keyboard the deciding factor of your purchase. A faster processor could make it interesting if it happens. HTC Sense may or may not be your thing – it's highly subject to a personal preference. Anyway, it's good to see T-Mobile gravitating towards the higher end Android devices recently. I wonder how thick it's gonna be. And it really should have better stats, like a front facing camera, higher resolution main camera, better processor (dual-core etc). The only thing I've come to detest about android (phones not the OS) is the release of several different phones with the same stats and hardly a different form factor. Put one of each on each carrier and move on for god's sake. I don't need another copy of my nexus one being released 6-8 months after it already came out. And don't give me that 'oh the galaxy s phones have a better processor' bull cuz you know that it;s not that significant. I mean I wanna see a REAL change in phones like the nexus one started not so long ago. …..But that's just my opinion. Well, here's to hoping.
Sense makes this a no-go.
This is a Google Experience phone, meaning stock Android – no Sense UI. Think updated N1 wth keyboard.
Yeah. I read that on the T-Mobile site. The article above mentions Sense, so I was commenting about that. I am very hopeful to see a new vanilla Android device available to the general public.
