The T-Mobile G2 is rumored to launch next month, and we have reason to believe that the more specific date of that launch will be September 29. TMONews obtained photos showing that the HTC Vanguard will launch on the 29th, and based on previous leaks, it’s very likely that the Vanguard, Vision, and G2 are one in the same. That means T-Mobile will offer the phone next month.
And what can we expect once the G2 is in stores? That’s a little less clear. HTC hasn’t released a non-Sense UI phone in quite some time, but a leaked version of the G2 ROM is running stock Android. However, it could just be that this is an early build and HTC have yet to add Sense.
The ROM also reveals that it will run on the Qualcomm MSM7X30 chipset, which supports UP TO 720 p video recording, 5.1 surround sound output, 12 megapixel camera, and 800MHz to 1 GHz Snapdragon processor.
These are still at the rumor point with this info, but if you’ve had your eye on an upgrade from your current T-Mobile phone, the time is nigh.
