The rumors have been flowing as of late in regards to a possible shortage on the Droid X. As of now the handset will be launching on July 15th and early reports have called for Verizon to quickly run out the the initial inventory and then struggle to get more in stock. Well, in a little bit of good news for anyone hoping to pick one up — Verizon has stepped forward and offered some potential good news. And yes, I say potential because anything can happen.

That said, according to Verizon Wireless spokeswoman Brend Raney;

“At present, we feel that we have done everything possible to ensure we have inventory to meet customer needs around the Droid X–the proof will be in the execution on July 15.”

Of course, I would highly suggest that if you want a Droid X you should plan to arrive early, just to be sure. After all, we did see Best Buy meet their initial supply with just pre-orders alone. Still, even if they run out initially, the time to get more should not be nearly as bad as what is happening with the Droid Incredible.
