Qik originally stated that it would deliver standard video chat to HTC EVO 4G customers and then provide a free trial of its premium services. It was hard to use either standard or premium features since Qik botched its launch and had several connectivity and server issues that made for a very poor performance.
In recognition of the “rocky start” that plagued its launch, Qik has announced that it will extend the free premium services trial for the rest of the summer. HTC EVO 4G users will have until the end of Septemeber to give Qik another shot and see if it’s worth forking over the dough to have the privilidge of doing video chats. My first hands-on attempts were dreadful but Qik has reportedly fixed many of the problems, so I’ll give it another chance soon.
I’m also guessing that this offer will extend to users who purchase the Samsung Epic 4G but I’ve yet to see any official word on that or when the phone would be released.
