Well look at what just arrived in my inbox. Samsung Mobile just sent me an invitation for an upcoming Android event set to bring “the next generation in Android smart phones.” Judging by that lofty assertion, I can only assume that the company will use that date to unveil the Samsung Galaxy S, the only groundbreaking device we know Samsung has on deck.
The Galaxy S is rumored to launch simultaneously in more than 100 countries the same month, which is pretty much a worldwide launch for a tech product. The Galaxy S could land in the U.S. next July. The device includes a Super AMOLED screen, one of the most powerful graphics processors available on any phone, and the latest version of Samsung’s customary UI that starts everything from scratch. I’m a bit worn out from a busy travel schedule last month so I may sit this one out, but this is a clear sign that we’re in for big Android news at the end of the month.
